Educating Donors about the Benefits of Planned Giving”
Join PPCI on June 18th, 2013 from 11:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. as Priya McCue, Chief Development Officer at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and Emily Kellndorfer, Shareholder at Hilton & Bishop Law Firm, share their experience on legacy fundraising. The audience will learn ways to include legacy fundraising in their overall fundraising plan. They’ll hear real-life examples on how best to steward donors after they tell you they leave you in their will. They’ll learn how to develop a planned giving recognition society and how to engage board members in the process. Finally, they will receive some guidance on wording to use and when it’s wise to involve professionals.

Philanthropy Partners of the Cape and Islands (PPCI) is a non-profit, volunteer-led organization that has been in existence on Cape Cod since 1991. PPCI members participate in lunches four times a year featuring guest speakers on topics relevant to members, including non-profit administration, fundraising, social networks, and special events. PPCI also hosts the annual Philanthropy Day conference. The recent 2012 Philanthropy Day was a full day of speakers knowledgable on a multitude of topics, extended networking opportunities, and a luncheon featuring philanthropic award presentations. Cape & Island non-profit employees, estate planners, board members, and non-profit enthusiasts all around the area attend Philanthropy Day. PPCI members receive discounted admission to this event. This year’s event will take place on November 13th!
If you are not already a member, we encourage you to join! Members can attend quarterly luncheon meetings at no charge and receive discounted admission to Philanthropy Day. In addition, becoming a member means being associated with other members who share your interest and knowledge of philanthropy, offering networking and collaborating opportunities throughout the area. PPCI Welcomes New Board Members at Annual Meeting
The Philanthropy Partners of the Cape and Islands is pleased to announce that Kathy Zagzebski, Executive Director of the National Marine Life Center and Beatrice M. Gremlich, Development Officer with Cape Cod Healthcare joined the Board of Philanthropy Partners of the Cape and Islands at the January 2013 PPCI annual meeting.
At the annual meeting, the following board members were voted on as Officers: President: Jean McCutcheon of Cotuit, Vice-President, Christiane Perry of Chatham, Treasurer, Bruce Williams of Centerville and Secretary, Erica Waasdorp of Marstons Mills. Directors are Erich Briggs of Plymouth, Thomas Evans of Harwich, Patricia Janiak of Plymouth, Emily Kellndorfer of Falmouth, Brenda Swain of Teaticket, Kathy Zagzebski of Buzzards Bay and Bea Gremlich of South Yarmouth.
